All panelists participaetd in discussion with the audience, and raised various interesting and important issues regarding different aspects of gender (in)equality in our society. Our Teaching Assistants have emphasized the importance of the new Master’s study program “Law and Gender” (LAWGEM), which will enroll its first generation in the academic year 2024/2025. They have also highlighted the significance of the overall project titled “New Quality in Education for Gender Equality – Strategic Partnership for the Development of Master’s Study Program ‘Law and Gender’ – LAWGEM”, which resulted in the establishment of the master’s program and represented numerous activities organized within this international project, led by the head coordinator Prof. Dr. Dragica Vujadinovic from the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade. In this sense, they especially highlighted the importance of several international conferences, as well as the spring and summer schools, which are being held for the second time in 2024, life-long learning platform and open access book on Gender Competent Legal Education. Master’s study program „Law and Gender“ will represent a true trigger in advancing legal education in Serbia, Europe and the world. All higher education institutions across EU and European countries as well as the universities across the globe do need introducing gender competent knowledge in all fields of law and social sciences and humanities. This master`s study program will be the first one which will offer the systemic reconsidering of legal knowledge from gender equality perspective. Its pioneering role will boost introducing gender equality perspective at other faculties of law and in different fields of higher education at many other universities. Through this master’s program, a step forward is indeed being taken in the context of inclusive education and the development of a gender-sensitive approach to education. Additionally, our representatives have highlighted that the program will be held from October this year and led by Prof. Dr. Ivana Krstic as head of the program. It will also gather distinguished lecturers and professors from our faculty who will be teaching in this master’s program, as well as the valuable publications published within the project. Furthermore, they explained the application conditions and deadlines for this master’s program, and directed attendees on how and when they can find additional information for the enrollment. In the end, Ana Memeti also pointed out to the issues of gender-based violence, stereotypes and prejudices, as well as social narratives and media reporting related to victims of gender-based violence. On the other hand, Mina Kuzminac highlighted the existence of gender inequalities in the contemporary world of work, focusing specifically on issues of professional segregation, gender pay gap, and the so-called “glass ceiling”. The presentations were followed by fruitful discussion, and the Master’s program “Law and Gender” sparked particular interest among the attendees.
